Snow covers all....

The snow was falling hard. His tire tracks already covered from only arriving a few moments earlier. He bends over the wood and coaxes a small glow til it becomes a comforting heat in the room.
He makes another trip to the window and peers out into the night. Where is she ?  He searches the blackness for her headlights.  Nothing. He starts to worry. Phone service was unheard of in a ten mile radius.
The snow storm wasn't bashful as it covered all of earths color. As he again is looking for a sign of her he sees a faint glow. So small as a lightning bug on a hot summer evening dancing in the humid air. His heart leaps as the lights approach. The car parks beside his in the drive as they seem to be welcoming each others metal bodies.
He is ready to open the door as she stumbles against the wind. She blows inside and against his chest as a gift of nature.  He closes his eyes and says a silent prayer of thankfulness. He takes her coat and gloves and leads to the sofa to sit by the fire. He wraps  a blanket around their shoulders and holds her close as if he could he back time. So much to share in words so many thoughts and wishes that they want to tell. Yes calls to serve as communication devices but nothing replaces seeing the reaction in another's face.
Eyes dancing during happy tales and tears to help cleanse all darkness away. Yet the hands on the clock hold all cards.
Their gazes confirm that the time will be spent exploring touching branding each other til they may meet again.
